Milwaukee, Wis. - Walthers will produce new schemes for the Bethlehem 4,000 Cubic-Foot Triple Coal Hopper Six-Packs. The HO Scale sets will be available in January 2008 priced at $79.98 each.

Riding the wave of new coalfield openings in the west during the 1970s, railroads quickly found they needed more cars, and purchased thousands of Bethlehem 4,000 Cubic-Foot Triple Coal Hoppers. As some of the most common three-bay hoppers on the rails, these 100-ton cars will be welcome additions to 1970s and later unit coal trains.

Each model features the superb detail found on all Walthers Gold Line cars including knuckle couplers and metal wheelsets. The cars are factory-assembled, but for modelers wishing to add more detail, a full set of formed wire grab irons is provided. These are easily mounted using drill starter points molded on the body.

Three new schemes will be offered and each set features six different roadnumbers:
932-7872 Wisconsin Central ("Patched" Ex-BN Car)
932-7873 BN (black, white)
932-7874 Point Comfort & Northern
