Hiawatha 48-Seat Diner
48-Seat Diner Offers Hiawatha Passengers Classy Meals

Walthers announces the arrival of the 48-Seat Diner #121-126, the seventh of ten authentic HO Scale Milwaukee Road Twin Cities Hiawatha cars. Based on a typical 1955 Twin Cities Hiawatha, these new cars are being produced especially for Walthers 75th Anniversary.

Fast Facts: Milwaukee Road's fast moving Hiawathas provided speedy service between Chicago and the Twin Cities. The trip between its two anchor cities took several hours, so meal service was an important component of the Hiawatha experience. A 48-Seat Diner was assigned to every Twin Cities Hiawatha consist, providing top-quality meals to passengers making the journey.

Features: This superbly detailed car features a detailed interior and comes equipped with factory-installed electrical pickups, diecast knuckle couplers and correct eight-foot wheelbase Nystrom trucks with RP-25 wheels. It is handsomely painted in Milwaukee's distinctive maroon and orange colors and comes complete with number decals. The car features the correct prototype length and underbody detail so a minimum 24" radius is recommended for operation. The model is supplied with modeler-added wire handrails and grab irons and has electrical contacts and provisions for easy installation of Walthers Passenger Car Interior Lighting Kits (933-1049 DC Version, 933-1084 DCC Version, sold separately).
