Express Car with Conductor's Window #1330-1336
Express Car Expands Hiawatha Consist

Milwaukee, Wis. - Walthers announces the arrival of the Express Car with Conductor's Window #1330-1336 (#932-9202), the third of ten authentic HO Scale Milwaukee Road cars. Based on a typical 1955 Twin Cities Hiawatha consist, these new cars are being produced especially for Walthers 75th Anniversary.

Mail and express helped pay the bills on the Milwaukee Road's Hiawathas. The fleet was upgraded in 1947, and included six new express cars, numbered 1330-36, for the Twin Cities and Midwest Hiawathas. These were built with a small office for the conductor, which was easily spotted by the extra "porthole" window at one end of the car. In later years, they were used in an equipment pool and found on various Hiawatha trains.

This superbly detailed car is equipped with factory-installed electrical pickups, diecast knuckle couplers and correct eight-foot wheelbase Nystrom trucks with RP-25 wheels. It is handsomely painted in Milwaukee's distinctive maroon and orange colors and comes complete with number decals. The car features the correct prototype length and underbody detail so a minimum 24" radius is recommended for operation.

The Express Car with Conductor's Window (#932-9202) retails for $44.98 and will be available in January 2008. Additional Hiawatha cars and PROTO 2000 E7 Milwaukee Road locomotives will be arriving during 2008.
