The H-S Vans were numbered 79200 to 79349 and delivered in 1967. They were favorites amongst crews on the CN. Their styling and design would set the standard for future Van orders. Few changes were made to these cars over their 30-year service lives with CN. Originally built for the Canadian Northern Railway, CNR's H-6 class 4-6-0 could be found in all kinds of light freight and passenger service and lasted until the end of CN steam service in the late 1950s.  \u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e  Over the years, several modifications were made to the H-6 which created some visually distinct locomotives in several subclasses.
