The Kadee(R) No. 148 Whisker(R) Metal Coupler will work anywhere a No. 5(R) Coupler will work and is a direct replacement for most Bachmann On30 couplers and a direct replacement for most plastic medium centerset "clone" couplers. This coupler features an all metal coupler head, shank, and Whisker) centering spring. The #148 Magne-Matic Whisker Metal Coupler may be mounted with No. 213, 232, 234, 242, 252, 262 gearboxes (not included) or with other manufacturers cast-on coupler pockets. It is not recommended to use a metal coupler directly on a metal surface or in a metal draft gearbox to avoid possible electrical crossover and shorting that may cause damage. This bulk pack includes only couplers - plastic insulated Snap-Together Gearboxes are available separately as part No. 380-242. No. 148 Whisker Metal Couplers are part of the extensive line of Kadee HO Scale knuckle couplers.
