2-8-0 Consolidation - Sound, Smoke and DCC Paragon4™ -- Great Northern #1143 (green, black, graphite, Tuscan)

This N Scale Paragon4 2-8-0 Consolidation from Broadway Limited is based on some of the most widely used steam locomotives in North America. In the late 1800's, the 2-8-0 Consolidation quickly became a staple on railroads worldwide, offering a highly efficient alternative to the 2-6-0 Mogul. The Consolidations were capable of hauling trains twice as heavy at a fraction of the cost - they revolutionized freight transportation. In the 2020s many Consolidations are preserved with a few still operating in excursion service. This 2-8-0 Consolidation steam locomotive is equipped with the Paragon4 sound system which works with all Broadway Limited Rolling Thunder(TM) advanced sound systems. Other features of this locomotive include a factory-installed smoke unit, heavy die cast chassis, smooth-running flywheel-equipped drive, directional lighting and magnetic knuckle couplers. It can be operated on all DCC systems as well as on standard DC railroads (with limited sound functionality). The decoder is mounted in a Next18 socket. It has wheels profiled to operate on Code 55 and larger rail and curves of 9-3/4" radius and larger are recommended.
