Based on one of the most popular boxcars on North America's rails, thousands of 1948 40' PS-1 Boxcars like this Kadee HO Scale model were built beginning in the 1940 and 1950s as railroads began replacing worn-out older equipment. This version is based on Pullman-Standard cars built beginning in 1948. The rugged all-steel construction insured a long service life well into the 1980s. This superbly detailed HO Scale model comes fully assembled, ready for service. The PS-1 a one-piece, injection molded body mounted on a metal floor. Separate details are already installed and include: see-through roofwalk, sliding doors (correct style for the prototype car), latches, grab irons, ladders and brake gear. Each rides on Kadee trucks with patented self-centering action for ease of placement on the tracks.
