Alco C424 Phase 2 - LokSound and DCC - Classic Gold -- Green Bay & Western 312 (red, gray, black)

This detailed HO Scale Atlas Master Gold Alco C424 is based on the later Century series of Alco road switchers produced for a number of railroads. One of the first Century locomotives to be produced, its 16-cylinder 251B-series prime mover produced 2,400-hp, making it a direct competitor to the 2,500-hp GE U25B and EMD GP35 models. A total of 190 units were built between 1963 and 1966 for customers throughout North America, including 53 for roads in the US, 92 for Canada and 45 for Mexico. The Alco C424 comes equipped with a dual-mode ESU LokSound Select sound and DCC dual-mode decoder for operation on DCC and DC layouts, and features a five-pole skewed-armature motor with dual flywheels, directional LED lighting and AccuMate(R) magnetic knuckle couplers. The Alco C424 features accurate decoration, roadname-appropriate body phase details and has plenty of applied details. Note that although the dual-mode decoders will operate on DCC and DC layouts, DC and DCC units will not operate tog
