EMD SD35 High Nose - 2-Rail w/DCC -- Norfolk & Western #1510, High Nose

The 2500-horsepower EMD SD35, and its passenger version SDP35, was designed for hauling heavy loads at speed. Built in the 1960s by the ElectroMotive Division (EMD) of General Motors, this six-axle road switcher was popular; approximately 360 units were built in a relatively short period between 1964 and 1966. These locos feature six driven axles; diecast chassis, fuel tank, pilots and trucks; directional headlights and markers; separately applied grab irons and handrail stanchions; twin motors with flywheels; fan and grille detail; scale windshield wipers; flat or raised dust bin where appropriate; and snow plow as appropriate for each roadname.
