O Master(R) Articulated Auto Carrier 3-Rail -- Norfolk Southern (2nd Scheme)

One of the newest freight cars entering service in America, these Articulated Auto Rack Cars are designed to carry more new cars at a lower cost. The prototype consists of two units that share a center truck and are connected by a hinged diaphragm that allows the car to track around curves. The all-new Atlas O replica has been designed with true 1/4" scale detail and dimension and will be offered in 2- and 3-rail versions. Each car will feature a diecast underframe, operating end doors, interior deck, separate wire grab irons, 70-ton roller bearing trucks mounted in the correct locations and complete brake gear. Like the prototype, the cars will include an articulating diaphragm, which can be set to operate on O-42 (the recommended minimum diameter curves for three-rail operation), as well as O-54 and O-63+ curves. Overall length of the cars is 35" 87.5cm. Models are assembled and painted, with four different car numbers offered for each roadname.
