Paragon(TM) Series Steam T-1 2-10-4 Powered w/Sound & DCC - Painted -- Chesapeake & Ohio #3030

Keeping coal moving across Ohio to Lake Erie demanded big power and C&O regularly assigned 2-8-8-2s, 2-6-6-2s and 2-10-2s to the job. This required an engine change enroute, which the road hoped to eliminate with a new class of locos. An Erie Berkshire was tested and from this data, plans for a larger 2-10-4 were developed. Lima was given the contract and 40 of the new T-1 class were ordered in 1930. On the road, the engines quickly proved themselves, handling 160-car trains straight through to Toledo, a job they handled for the next 20 years.
