RDG Class T1 4-8-4 - Sound and DCC - Paragon3 -- Chessie System #2101 (Steam Special; blue, yellow, vermillion)

This Broadway Limited HO Scale RDG Class T1 4-8-4 Paragon3 steam locomotive is based on the "Northerns" rebuilt in the Reading's hometown shop using donor I-10a 2-8-0 steam locomotives. In the era, the War Production Board regulations prevented the design of new locomotives, but did allow modernizations and upgrades. Of the 30 T1s constructed four are preserved with a some of those being returned to operation as of 2019. In the late 1950s and 1960s the Reading operated its series of Reading Rambles with four T1s for power (and one for parts) and in the 1970s Chessie System and Delaware and Hudson used the engines for their excursion programs. The 2101 handled the American freedom train. The HO Scale model has full Paragon3 sound and DCC for realistic sound and motor control and is designed to work with all Broadway Limited Rolling Thunder(TM) advanced sound systems.
