Alco Power for 1960s and Later Railroads Distinctive Atlas Trainman Alco RS32/36 diesels are perfect for your post-1960s layout. The 2,000hp RS-32 was intended to compete with EMD's GP20 and GE's U25B locomotives. The 1,800hp RS-36 was produced concurrently and featured an almost identical exterior appearance. Only 35 RS-32 and 40 RS-36 units were produced between 1961 and 1963. A handful are still in service. These models have a smooth-running mechanism and feature a powerful motor with dual flywheels and an NMRA 8-pin socket for easy conversion to DCC with the decoder of your choice (sold separately).
