The Atlas HO Scale ACF(R) 4650 3-Bay Centerflow Covered Hopper is based on cars built by American Car & Foundry (ACF) in the 1960s, with another production run in the 1970s, these large capacity covered hoppers are used to carry grain, salt, dried kaolin clay, sugar and other bulk materials that have to be protected from the weather.
 
These HO models include etched-metal, see-through roofwalks, detailed brake gear, authentic 100-ton roller bearing trucks with blackened metal wheels and body-mounted Accumate(R) couplers with screw-attached coupler pockets. Undecorated models come with optional parts for three different types of loading hatches and two styles of discharge outlets. ACF(R) 4650 3-Bay Centerflow Covered Hoppers come prepainted and lettered in a variety of railroad-owned schemes with details appropriate for the early (pre-1971) or late (post-1971) production.
