EMD GP39 - Sound and DCC -- CSX #4296 (Patched Ex-Chessie, yellow, vermillion, blue)

Rapido Trains HO Scale EMD GP39 is patterned after the diesels based on the wildly popular GP38, but turbocharged with four few cylinders. The EMD GP39 locomotive was unique in that it featured a 12-cylinder, turbocharged 645E3 prime mover - four less than its GP38 cousin. The largest purchaser of the GP39 was the Chesapeake & Ohio, ordering 20 locomotives. Upon the Chessie and Seaboard merger, the GP39s continued in local and yard service for CSX Transportation. While some locomotives and slugs would wear a variety of patch-out or early CSX schemes, most of the fleet was repainted into the YN2 scheme and eventually the current YN3 scheme. The HO Scale replicas feature roadname-appropriate detailing and applied details for their scheme. The model features dual flywheels and magnetic knuckle couplers and comes equipped with an ESU LokSound V5 sound and DCC decoder.
