Lunde Coal Elevator -- Kit - 5-1/2 x 4 x 6-1/2" 14 x 10.2 x 16.5cm

Shoehorned into cramped city lots or alongside rural grain elevators and lumberyards, coal elevators like this were a common sight from the 1900s to the 1960s. Receiving different sizes of coal by hopper, gondola or boxcar, the structure housed lifting machinery and storage bins, which kept the coal dry and made for faster loading of trucks and wagons by gravity.

Based on an actual prototype, the kit features laser-cut basswood walls, peel-and-stick roofing, doors, and windows, printed advertising signs, and a cast metal coal shovel and buckets. Photos and drawings are included in the assembly instructions for easy construction.
