The Faller HO Scale Motorized Folding Bascule Bridge is a great way to add animation and operational interest to your layout. While designed for railroad traffic, it can also be built to handle streets including Faller Car System operating vehicles. A prototype bascule bridge is not pulled upwards by cables or chains, but rather moved by the shifting of weights. This weight is then usually not located above the bridge girder, but behind its pivot axis, just as in the model.
