PRR Class PB70 Coach-Baggage Combine - Ready to Run -- Pennsylvania Railroad #5047 "Pennsylvania" (1930s, Light Tuscan)

The Broadway Limited HO Scale Heavyweight PRR Class PB70 Coach-Baggage Combine is based Pennsy's head-end cars. Combines, as the name suggests, housed two car types under one roof, offering efficiency by reducing one car from the train. A common type was the coach-baggage, accommodating passengers and luggage. Often used on small trains and light branch lines in the later decline of passenger rail travel, the cars also pinch hit for similar equipment on mainline trains such as Pennsylvania Limited, The Admiral, The Duquesne, The Red Arrow and others. Positioned at the train's front, the cars earned the monicker "head-end equipment," alongside locomotives and non-passenger units like the RPO (Railway Post Office) for mail transport. In the train consist, combines, serving as coach-RPOs, placed the mail section ahead of passengers. The PB70 classification stands for Passenger, Baggage, 70 feet long. These detailed cars are the equipment modelers of the 1930s to the 1960s need. They're loaded with detail inside and out, they feature lighted, colored interiors for added interest and they're decorated in era-appropriate schemes. The cars are equipped with magnetic knuckle couplers and will operate on 18" radius and larger curves. The PRR Class PB70 Coach-Baggage Combine is part of the line of Broadway Limited HO Scale passenger cars.
